Fado

Fado has just been inscribed in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage lists.
If you’re not aware Fado is a Portuguese national symbol, its soulful song. And as a Portuguese native myself I feel I should pay homage to this audible delicacy. The word Fado means destiny or fate and ‘fado’ the music always walks hand-in-hand with the also Portuguese and also soulful word ‘saudade’.

The most iconic singer of fado was {and still remains} Amália Rodrigues and if you would like to see and hear Amália at her best {and also for a great example of fado} check this video from 1965.

Just magical, don't you think?!
